Let's do a quick check on our little 'Club for Growth'...

Watermelon requires some training- and so over the side it goes.
My planned garden staples are quite happy.

OK - so I took a chance with transplanting the mysteries; I could be bringing in a wonderful bonus, then again, I could be transplanting fancier weeds. So where did these two end up?
The one on the left is pumpkin... probably the smaller cooking variety used in pies and breads.
The one on the right started to yellow in its leafy growth, so I figured it had reached its peak. No flowers or fruiting clusters, so I figured I'm batting .500 at this point. I go to pull it and...
Well, I'm not exactly rushing inside for the sour cream, butter, and chives but COOL! Totally unexpected. I think I'll try to grow bigger potatoes over the winter.
And what about this lil' guy?
I followed a hunch and Googled 'cantaloupe blossom'
Yup- there's a match.
So the keyhole garden coolness factor just jumped up a couple points. More to come...
